Guide
Conveyancing when you're selling
On a sale, your conveyancer prepares the contract, answers the buyer's questions and pays off any mortgage on completion.
What your conveyancer does
- Obtains your title documents and helps you complete property information forms
- Prepares and sends the draft contract to the buyer's conveyancer
- Answers enquiries about the property
- Agrees the completion date, exchanges and completes
- Redeems your existing mortgage and pays the estate agent from the sale proceeds
Mortgage redemption
If you have a mortgage on the property you're selling, the firm needs to obtain a redemption statement and repay the lender on completion. Many firms charge a separate fee for this, which we include when you tell us there's a mortgage to redeem.
Selling and buying together
If you're selling and buying at the same time, ConveyMatch shows each part separately and then a combined total, so you can see exactly what each side costs.
